Producer Steve Holland confirmed that Paige was under contract to appear in 9 episodes. By the time, we get to her last appearance, The Big Bang Theory was finished and there was no way to include her in the present continuity. The point of Paige’s character was for Sheldon to realize how difficult and heartbreaking it is to be a child prodigy. The writer’s strike shortened up the final season and McKenna Grace had scheduling conflicts.

I have been both Sheldon and Penny in this situation because every time I check engine light will come on originally I would freak out but now like Penny knowing how freaking tedious it is to go get it checked up by an engineer every single time and every single f****** time they say there's nothing wrong with the car they don't know why it's doing that it's just so irritating that when it gets out of there they say they reset it and then all of a sudden they just kicks back on with like a couple of weeks so eventually I ended up like anything's been on for years Heck I've had my mom constantly mention it and even mention the check fuel inlet and I'm like I'm telling you I don't know why that's on I've had it looked at I've had the freaking engineers look at it so I don't know what's wrong with it and frankly I don't think I'll ever know what's wrong with it because nothing has happened there's like maybe a few times when the check engine light actually meant something and that was when like not only would the check engine light be on but there'd be a noise or there would be like this massive like vibration and those are usually a speed sensor or oxygen sensor mostly sensors and the serpentine belt but every other time when that light came on literally nothing had happened.
